VEA is a French restaurant in Central that features a French-Chinese tasting menu, holds one Michelin star, and is priced from roughly two thousand Hong Kong dollars per person upward. The dining room is refined with a contemporary feel, and attention to detail runs through the space and the service. Lighting and seating are arranged in a restrained, comfortable way, and the atmosphere encourages guests to take their time over a multi-course meal rather than rush through it. The signature French-Chinese tasting menu combines Chinese elements with French cooking techniques, resulting in a fusion-oriented sequence of dishes. Each course is presented with care, and the progression of the menu gives the meal a sense of structure. The cooking emphasises layers and contrast, opening on a lighter note before moving into richer courses, so the pace of the meal feels deliberate. Service is attentive and explanatory, with staff introducing dishes at suitable moments without interrupting conversation. This kind of restaurant suits anniversaries, business entertaining, or guests with an interest in fusion cooking. Compared with other French restaurants of its kind, the focus here falls more on the dialogue between Chinese and French ideas. The setting remains comfortable for conversation throughout the evening. Service moves at a relaxed pace, allowing diners to linger between courses. VEA therefore adds a distinctive fine dining option to Central through its French-Chinese tasting experience.
